Livestock Judging
The ultimate goal of livestock judging is to compare your perception of an animal against the IDEAL and then to contrast your opinion with that of another individual or group of individuals. The idea of the perfect animal is constantly changing. The direction of animal agriculture is driven by a variety of factors. Beef cattle, swine, sheep and goats will be the subjects of evaluation. The top 4 contestants will represent our chapter at the KY State Fair. |
Dairy Judging
The ultimate goal of dairy judging is to provide a competitive event for agricultural education students, emphasizing skills in dairy cattle selection and dairy herd management. The recognition portion is both to reward and encourage more students to enter the dairy industry and to select a team to represent Muhlenberg County at the Kentucky State Fair. The top 4 contestants will serve on the team. |
Meats Judging
The purpose of the meats judging CDE is to educate and expose students to factors that will enable them to identify cuts of meat at the retail store. Students will evaluate specific cuts of meat for quality and in comparison to other cuts. Knowing cuts of meat and the area of the carcass in which the cuts came from is a lifelong skill. The top four contestant members will serve on a four-person team at the KY State Fair |
